I'm still amused by the occasional stylistic similarities between FF12 and Skies of Arcadia, namely the air ships and sky pirates shenannigans. Hell, there's even the Arcadia Empire. There's such a thing as paying homage and then there's taking the piss.
All I heard about the link between FF12 and FFTA was one or two similar names. Doesn't sound so bad to me: I can't say I was FFTA's biggest fan, considering it was virtually wall-to-wall battles and no puzzles, talking to people or much of anything that keeps me amused. I like a fine balance between game elements that FFTA simply didn't deliver on.
FFTA and FFXII are set in the same world (Ivalice). That's the only similarity, really. The combat system is based more on FFXI, oddly. I haven't played it yet though ;_;. I should have brought my PS2 to college, apparently. Silly me.
I bought my Gamecube at uni. A driend of mine foolishly mentioned he was putting his up for sale since he couldn't afford to buy games for that AND his PS2 so I drunkenly shouted "I'll buy it!". And I did.
The irony is, he ended up playing more multiplayer on the games I bought for it than he did on the PS2 he had at home. Thanks to my student loan, my GC games collection is worryingly extensive (as is my level of debt..)
Ben McGraw's lovingly crafted this website from scratch for years.
It's a lot prettier this go around because of Jon Wofford.
