I'm doing a final year project for my University course: I'll be designing something to carry my games console, some games, controllers and the like.
Aside from the usual sources of research on this sort of thing, I need something fairly killer in order to put across in my initial report whether something decent to put your Gamecube/PS2/Xbox/Whatever is necessary, whether the ones that are already about are any good and what people usually do when they want to take their console round a friend's house.
So... you guys/girls/gender non-specifics enjoy gaming quite a lot, so which of you have a carry case for your gear? Do you use it? If not, what do you use instead? Do you like what you've got?
I need some quotable material, basically. So this is a call for opinions, views and.. stuff. Hell, let rip: just so long as it's legible I'm happy. If you make sense you'll probably even end up getting quoted somewhere, which is nice and - in some cases - hilarious. The more, the merrier.
In fact, I hereby promise that if enough of you say something useful, I will get off my lazy arse and do some of that P7 work I've been idly poking for the last month. Sound like a good trade?
Anyway, personally, I have a funky official Gamecube carry bag which has just enough room for my 'Cube, two controllers, the wires and the odd memory card. Plus side: it looks fairly slick and the carry handle on the 'Cube is what you actually hold it all by. Down side: no room for games and the logo on the front practically advertises me for a mugging.

See? That's the problem! If you look around for cases for full-size consoles all you get are bloody GBA cases! There are like, FOUR cases available at the very most for any one console.
The DS *will* rock, but I want to take my bongos over to a friend's house and beat him into submission in an entirely non-violent manner. Something tells me bongos will not be included with the DS.

Oh, I dunno. Girls tend to buy portable systems more than full-sized ones...

Sweet Jesus. Even with a whole paragraph of direction and no-one's anywhere NEAR the point yet!
It's my final year project, ok? It's *something* to do. It was either that or they give you a project to do, which usually involves sheds.

You should remove xbox from your 'Gamecube/PS2/Xbox/Whatever' specification, as they weigh about 3 tons and no one in their right mind would want to carry one about.

The bag can have a gravity negation chamber!

Xboxs actually do have carry bags but the main complaint is that once you load 'em full of stuff they weigh approximately the weight of Stalingrad. Plus, the blindingly obvious declaration you're carrying £200 quids-worth of kit in your bag that results from having a great big green 'X' on the front. Nice one. 'Mug me now.'

Make it red or silver, like that Presidential briefcase with the nuclear codes inside!
System pouch, side extension pouch (I'd say, about 1 inch of extension, like a laptop case) for games or DVDs, and an extra layer of pockets for cables and two controllers. Simple, right?
How are you actually going to make the bag? You have a textile company or something?

The case is getting made and I have one of the most profitable unis in the country to fund it. Plus the area is a hive of plastic and textiles manufacturers.
