In future guys, ignore me when I'm being a dick. A few points before I pretend this thread never existed:
-This was indeed provoked my converstion with Interf. then Grue, and proir to that the horrible fan pages of various teens, of which vec's is a very moderate and reasonable example. So basically I was being antagonistic.
-Fair point about movies. American Beauty is just plain shite (and a much better example of the self sacrafice genre) and Memento is a gimmick - Insomina is a better film despite having Robin Williams in it.
-I think people misunderstand my politics - I'm far from expert on america, don't wish to judge the internal system you have and would certainly not position myself as either a 'liberal' (or for that matter 'lefty'). In fact I'd say I'd class the major parties in both the uk and america as 'conservative' - as they understandably want to maintain the status quo that is currently beneficial to them. However I think in the next few decades some global realities will start hitting home and the west will be forced to take on an more inclusive outlook on the rest - either that or disaster.
-Puerile is an accurate, if rather too exclusive, way of expressing my meaning. Certainly 'juvenile' is not a good synonym, nor a word that is used in connection with anything other than 'delinquents' over here. Though I must admit I had to check the spelling... :P
-Alex, don't be a tit. I know living it Ipswich must have warped you mind, but fucking Michael Howard (aha - I had to look his name up) is no solution. Three party politics however, might help things.
-Sega/Nitendo was just a wind up. But I love my Megadrive, and some of my favourite games will always be those.

Michael Howard isn't really a solution, but he is the lesser of three evils by quite a sizable margin. We deserve better but we're too fucking stupid to see that there's anything wrong, and that's why we're going to be stuck with a Labour government for the next fifteen years.
