As an offshoot of the argument about whether PCs suck or not, Interference posted a list of his favourite games, just about all of which were PC games. So I am going to do the same, but in a new thread because I think this is a subject worthy of its own. So here is is my top ten sixteen games of all time, not really in any order:
1. The Phantasy Stars [1,2,3,4 but not PSO] (Master System/Mega Drive) [1988-1994]
2. Frontier: First Encounters (PC) [1995]
3. Dungeon Keeper 2 (PC) [1999]
4. Sonic the Hedgehog 1 & 2 (Mega Drive) [1991-1992]
5. Simon the Sorcerer (CD32) [1994]
6. Metropolis Street Racer (Dreamcast) [2000?]
7. Final Fantasy 7 (Playstation) [1996? 1997?]
8. Sensible World of Soccer 96/97 (Amiga) [1996]
9. Darkmere (Amiga) [1992]
10. Goldeneye (N64) [1996?]
11. The Settlers (Amiga) [1993]
12. The Faery Tale (Mega Drive) [God knows when. And God knows why]
13. Monkey Island 1 & 2 (Amiga) [?-1991]
14. Turrican 2 (Amiga) [1990?]
15. Sonic Adventure (Dreamcast) [1998/9]
16. Street Fighter 2: Special Champion Edition (Mega Drive) [1993]
I'm a bit unsure about some of the dates. But looking at this list I realise that none of those were made recently... The most recent one is Metropolis Street Racer which has since had two sequels on Xbox, neither of which are as good. I'm sure that Fable will make the list though. So not many PC games on there, though some were also available on PC (Simon the Sorcerer, Final Fantasy 7, Sensible World of Soccer, The Settlers, The Faery Tale, Monkey Island 1 & 2, Sonic Adventure, Street Fighter 2) but usually in crappier forms than the one listed, particularly with the older games (which these mostly are).
Post your Top Ten Games, because I'm interested. And I have nothing else to do today.
EDIT: Khross, I am not anal retentive, I just remember. Correctly or incorrectly. :p

I don't even know if these are top ten. I'd sure play them right now, though.
In fact, forget that. Here's my top games, in no order at all.
You know, looking back over this list...I can't make good top whatever lists AT ALL. It's more like...highlights. Maybe not even that. I was about to put PGA Tour '96 on the Genesis list. There's too much I haven't played. And there seems to be a lack of variety...in fact, these are not good lists.

Outcast is heavily underrated. Its a crime how few people bought it. Someone go grab it NOW. Its cheap, since its been on budget for an eternity now. The score was performed by the Moscow Philiharmonic Orchestra, directed by one Lenny Moore. Excellent ending too. Orange jumpers have never had it so good.
And yes, we cannot underestimate the Zelda series. Many believe Ocarina of Time to be the greatest game ever. I'm waiting for the next Zelda with breath that is not only baited but thrown in a pond.

What system is Outcast for, it sounds cool.
TOP GAMES OF ALL TIME
NOT IN ORDER BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE DID
THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION
I LUV U ALL
1. Xenogears (PS)
2. Chrono Trigger (SNES)
3. Chrono Cross (PS)
4. Final Fantasy X (PS2)
5. Morrowind (PC)
6. Fallout 2 (PC)
7. Arcanum (PC)
8. Shining Force III (Saturn)
9. Dynasty Warriors 4 (PS2)
10. Star Wars Galaxies (PC)
Arcanum is actually a really underrated game. I would suggest you pick it up Intereference (if they sell it in the UK). Its by Troika, who went on to make Greyhawk: The Temple of Elemental Evil. Its similar to Baldur's Gate, but its got a really cool Magic/Technology balance thing, and a huge world and really deep customization.
Shining Force 3 is necessary for anyone who wants to be a human.
Dynasty Warriors 4 is like, wtf. It is the greatest action game EVAR, becuase it has all sorts of crazy loot grabbing and stat building, and crazy Chinamen.
Star Wars Galaxies is an MMORPG (like Everquest) and its cool. All the others should be self explanatory.

Nobody seems to remember these:
1. Valkyrie Profile
2. Planescape: Torment
Both also have the distinction of being about the most depressing games ever made.

Valkyrie Profile isn't very well known. That said, it's the very next game I play, since I have just beaten Wild Arms 3.

Life is a difficult game. Use your continues wisely.

I don't know... Maybe because they called it Donkey Kong in the original for Atari? Maybe the "Donkey" part is Japanese or something. Beats me.
Also:
Adding to my list (How could I forget these?):
14) Super Mario Bros. 3 [NES] (1988??)
15) Kirby's Adventure [NES] (1994)
16) Final Fantasy I [NES] (1988??)

Another two additions to my list, which I unforgivably forgot:
17. Shenmue I & 2 (Dreamcast) [1999,2002??]
18. Soleil (Mega Drive) [1994]
Soleil is a very strange Zelda-like game in which you take the role of a little boy who collects various animals in order to use their magical powers to complete a quest. He can also talk to the animals. And flowers. The object of the quest is never quite made clear... Anyway, it's a superlative game, which I believe was released as "Crusader of something-or-other" in the US. Nice music too. Anyone else ever played it?
But lavishing love and praise upon the wondrous is not nearly as enjoyable as lavishing hate upon the deserving. Especially for someone so inherently miserable as myself. So:
THE ANTI-LIST. OF DISAPPOINTMENT AND/OR REVULSION.
1. Halo (XBOX/PC) [2002]. Slightly disappointing after all the hype. That's it.
2. Rise of the Robots (AMIGA/PC) [1994]. The biggest insult a game developer has ever made against the game buying public. It was possible to complete this game by holding up-right and button A. And I only wish I was joking about that. Probably the best thing about it was that Queen guitarist Brian May composed the rather forgettable intro music.
3. FIFA 2004 (XBOX). Weather effects were removed so that they could be put back in as a "feature" in the next installment. There's no international tournaments for the same reason. There's no player editing for the same reason. It's boring. Electronic Arts continue the insults.
4. Flight Sims. Apart from looking nice they serve no purpose. [target enemy Mig twelve miles away... fire missile... scratch one Mig. Not that you ever even saw it. WWI flight sims are cool though.]
5. The Sims (PC). Electronic Arts insult us further. One was more than enough.
6. Perfect Dark (N64). For making you be some annoying woman with a stupid haircut instead of James Bond.
7. Phantasy Star II (Genesis) [1989]. For having no storyline to speak of. Or to hear of. And for featuring a battle system for which no suitably vitriolic adjective yet exists.
8. Sonic 3 (Genesis) [1993]. A truly poor effort in comparison to its two classic prequels. I dance on the graves of those responsible.
9. Virtua Racing (Mega Drive) [1993]. It had a special chip thingy in the cartridge to allow decent(ish) 3D, like the SNES's SuperFX chip. This made the game cost £70, which was more than the console cost at the time. I believe that averaged out to about 3p per polygon. Good game though.
10. Phantasy Star Universe. The next in Sega's increasingly awful Phantasy Star series promises to be just as terrible as PSO. It's not Phantasy Star, please don't buy it. Then they won't make any more, or at least only the Japanese will have to endure them.
My annoyance is now sated.
EDIT: ThinInce/Overkill, I once heard that "Donkey" was a typographical error made in a fax between Nintendo's offices in Japan and the US, the Japanese meaning to write "Monkey". But this is probably one of those things that sounds plausible but has no basis in fact. Actually, I'm pretty sure that I also read afterwards that the fax thing was untrue. So... I don't know.

9. Life [LIFE]
Feh, what are you smoking? Life sucks! The resolution's too low, I have a crappy framerate on it, and there's only one account allowed! wtf.
Not to mention:
No instruction manual. (a few hint books, but they all seem to be based on a very early beta of the Japanese version)
Almost every NPC has the crappiest, most irrelevant and excessively needless and superfluous over-redundant plethora of dialogue.
Cheats have been completely disabled.
The monthly fees are outrageous.
Too many "run to the store to get eggs only to get back and find you need butter as well" quests.
All my magic spells completely suck.
Very few of the bosses actually die.
I have yet to find a 1-up.
No save? Oh what I wouldn't do for a save/load feature...
Then again...
Sometimes, the graphics are pretty sweet.
I do really like some of the main characters in my party.
Two words (specifically related to the above): force feedback.
For the most part the soundtrack is customizable.
Actually my Charm spell worked pretty well the one time I really wanted it to.
Very non-linear.
Character customization is spot on.
The very definition of "realistic".
Intricate and huge maps, with zero load time.
Party follow seems to work perfectly.
Though spotty at times, the AI can be pretty challenging.
I guess I'll just wait for the ending, and make my decision then.

I agree with you Grue. FF6 was overrated. 5 was better.
Andy: Planescape! How could I forget! That game was truly incredible.
MOAR GAMEZ:
Beyond Oasis [Genesis] (hopefully vecna can back me up on this series)
Legend of Oasis [Saturn]
Fighters Megamix [Saturn]
EDIT:
And The Magic Candle! I forgot! WOW that game was awesome, and it was made in 1989 by Mindcraft. Has anyone ever played it? It roxors me.
