Lore says that the 'james' email account here at vrpg was an in-use account from the guy that runs http://verge-net.info. Since I have no other contact information, will this person, or anyone that knows anything about this person please contact me?

Thanks!

You mean Arek? He's alive. I don't have an email for him at the moment, but I can check my Yahoo or something. Or just check Arek's account.

Right now verge-net.info used to be verge-net after the server went down and minus the news ...uh, backbone thing. He's working on restoring it.

--Omni (it's kinda annoying to post anonymously, having to fight through three or four dialogue boxes. First time it was funny, though.)

Yeah. The annoying is the point. And if you continue to post anonymously, I'll start keeping track of anonymous posting IPs and increase the boxcount be the number of posts made.

Logging in isn't hard. Maybe I'll add a login dialog right in the posting form for you.

I'm sure you wouldn't do that. Because you're nice, and that would be mean. Unbearably mean.

Nice? Perhaps. But anonymous posting makes me fly into an unholy rage.

How's about integrating the login form right above the 'title' input - slashdot style - and if you're logged in phase them out.

Process the same form at once.

Or you could totally just be like 'you have to register to post to the forums,' like most of the internet does anyway. It's annoying, but only slightly, and at any rate is better than ALERT() ALERT() ALERT() ALERT() ALERT(), which has just made me post anonymously, and completely out of spite.

Overkill

Last time I checked, you were able to hit cancel on the dialogues and still post anonymously.

Yep, I was correct. Hit Cancel on the first Alert() and watch as it leads you to the reply page! :o

Also, I am all for login form right on the reply page. Have a little list of radio buttons, sort of like LiveJournal does. One says 'Post Anonymous (Omni, arias... I hate you. ;__;)' another 'Post as user: _____ Password: ______' and a check box that says 'Log me in' so that people can optionally choose to post and not log in if, say they were public computers. At any rate, Alert() is stupid :{

Oooh, stupid me. I have to fix that! :D

Also, it's not Alert().

...it's Confirm() ;)

Chicks love confirm()

Don't hate the anonymous poster. You could be one someday.

Never. I'll never join you.

In all honesty it wasn't my first intention to post anonymously until I realized I was reading those boxes again, and decided to go ahead with it. So it's kinda poetically ironic.

Also, I then logged in and it said 'You're already logged in, jerk.' I thought that was mean, and confusing.

[edit: in fact, yeah...whenever I open verge-rpg.com, I'm not logged in, but when I click 'forums' or 'login', on the next page I'm suddenly logged in.]
