- Click, File, and choose New Pack.
- It will then ask you for a destination for the packfile, so choose the directory where you want your packfile to be created, and call it whatever you wish. (The files you are packing must be in the same directory that you have told packed to create the packfile in.)
- Next, choose "Pack" from the top and click on "Add Files". A new window will pop up giving you the option to either add files manually, or load an entire directory.
- Once you have all the files you want packed, save it from the file menu, and your new packfile is ready to be used.
To tell verge to load your packfile, open up "verge.cfg" in any text editor and add the line:
mount1 packfilename
For example; if you create a packfile called "game.vpk" in "verge.cfg" you would add the line:
mount1 game.vpk
If you have more than one packfile, you would add another line changing the number beside "mount". For example:
mount1 code.vpk mount2 sounds.vsk
