How much does the overworld music in Geas remind you of something from a Zelda game? It reminded me of Zelda so strongly that I went and reviewed my collection of midis from Posted on 2005-06-08 15:20:10

I'm pretty sure that the song is original. I will, however, ask my music guy next time he's online. :)

Edit: o_O This thread is so messed up.

Wow, you responded fast! I made up a duplicate topic because of my HTML error, and you were able to post to this one. how?

Well... somehow Jesse managed to post something in between. Some sort of Mac magic.

But yeah, I'm active most of the day on these boards. It's uh... a little sad. <_<

This thread, my thread, is so confused that I'm laughing over here. Ah...who edited my post? Thanks for fixing it!

Actually, Jesse just informed me that he hand-wrote an HTTP query to submit a post in between that basically finished your link tag and then reposted the latter half of your post. So he never edited your post, you're actually viewing half your post and half his.

Jesse is a ninja.

And I'll get on McGrue to fix this parsing weirdness when I talk to him next.

No problem. Now! Back to the topic at hand: it definitely sounds like that same genre. Which is cool, in my books.

I think I could have reversed the damage if I had proper control over my computer. I think I just needed to put a quotation mark and the /a tag, to make things OK.

Sorry-started typing before Jesse posted, submitted after.
If you want some unusual remixes, and some uncommon tunes, you should check out the midi archive at http://www.zhq2.com - 'classic' section.

Okay, I just talked to Erdrick about the song. It is original... any similarity to an existing song is coincidental.

I don't know what's mysterious about this thread. I think it's perfectly straightforward, just like all lunatics think they're sane.
On topic, it seems my link with zhq2 is too vague. Here is the very page: http://www.zhq2.com/ZHQ/music.htm

Further reflection suggests that maybe the forest and overworld songs use the same theme. Still, they have very distinct qualities. You should check out the MIDIs from the old zhq. Their new 'media' section is smaller, and it's only got damned MP3s. It's less efficient to use MP3s. I put the link above.
