Does anyone know of 16x16 based tilesets that are free for anyone to use/fiddle with?

I fail at art. hard. , and this is causing my game-making progression to go horribly slow.

Im looking for ancient-ruins like tilesets, and a swamp , and perhaps a neat lookin' inside to a dark tower......

but yeah thats not going to happen if im behind the pixels!

my artwork would make an Apple ][ graphics fanatic cry.

you could google for rm2k resources/tilesets. there are a LOT of resources for rm2k. i am not sure if they're at 16x16, but if not, you could easily reproduce them at those dimensions, even if you suck at art.

hmm ill have to check.

I always thought the RM2k stuff was in its own file format so I cant just import it into MapED!?

dude, rm2k uses .png image files. do you know what a png image is?

you import your png into rm2k and it has a mapmaker thingy built right into it.

i guess with maped you could import the image file and work from there or copy it in with the clipboard. i am not sure, i haven't worked with maped yet.
