I'm not too sure if there're any active projects out there that still require a musician, but I'm kind of itching to compose for something that's being developed...

Most of the projects I've been a part of have fallen a part, so I'm kind of 'gameless' at the moment. (Yes, I have Rysen Ranch, but I want to do music stuff, and it's not at the point where music is a priority.)

So basically if anyone's working on something (preferably an RPG) and wants some original music shoot me an e-mail. :D

Also, for samples of my music you can check out my CTGMusic page or my web-site, in my signature.

OMG, thank you god for answering my prayers, i was looking for someone who wanted to compose music but had no luck... usually the ppl either charged for their services or made remixes of music which i didn't want...

Anyway i making a demo rpg right now just to get me started with verge you know learing basic code and such but if you are up to it my sn is Krep90 for AIM.

BTW I heard some of your music and it was great...

Yeah, the thing with music is that...it is generally a lot of work and one song can take awhile to create. So...I tend to find that people charge if only because they'd like to get *something* out of it as in a lot of cases projects they've worked hard to compose for fall apart and the music is never used. So to be paid for it kind of gives the impression that whomever is doing the game is serious. And I can see where they're coming from. I have a tonne of music written for specific projects that will probably never be used. But for me, the more I compose the better I get, and it's something I love to do. One day it'd be great to do it as my job, but meh, I can't expect that right now and the more experience the better. ;)

Anyway, I'm definately interested, but despite my profile having an AIM screen name I actually don't use it anymore. The only people I had on there I had on other IM's, so I didn't think it was worth it.

I actually don't use IM's that often as I usually get on here at arcane hours of the night, so you're best bet is to probably e-mail me. You can also catch me on IRC from time to time in #rysensoft, #vergehelp or #verge.

Since you're doing a demo rpg I'm assuming that you're looking for just some generic music, ie. town music, battle music, etc. So if you want you can e-mail me a list of stuff and I'll see what I can come up with. Oh, and if it is at all possible screenshots would be incredibly helpful. I like to know that what I'm composing will actually fit a scene and can generally find more inspiration when I see what I'm composing for.

Sooooo, I'll be happy to do some stuff for you. Just let me know what you need. :)

And thanks for the compliment. :)

Rysen, if you're interested I'm going to need music at some point in the future for Midsummer, though it's in a bit of a mess at the moment so there's not going to be a demo or anything for a few months yet. But if you might be interested let me know and I'll send you the address for the final v2 demo when I find it.

I was reading your guide yesterday very informative, but as of right now I'm making every resource so it'll take some time to get some screen shots but when i get some ill send them to you... because the fact that I just started using verge (not counting the times i fiddled around v2) it will take me a while to get used to the whole layout. Would you also be willing to offer some tips for a newb like me? Much appreciated!

Kreplyn:
Oh, okay, I wasn't sure how far along you were in the process. So I don't think you'll need music at this point, since you're still figuring stuff out. I can, however, help you if you get stuck or have any questions regarding any of the aspects of v3. So feel free to e-mail. But when you get to the point where music is needed, then I'll still help, no worries.

For some general advice, other than read my tutorial and the other guides/docs found on this web site, I'd recommend downloading all the demo's available on this site. Generally the source will be available, and the way I learned how to code in v2 was by reading other people's code and learning how to accomplish the things I wanted to do. (ie. menu's, items, etc.) But even so, if you come across something in someone's code that you don't understand and would like explained jump on IRC and visit #vergehelp or send me an e-mail. I'll be glad to help, and so will the others that hang out in #vergehelp.

Alex:
Check your e-mail plzkthx. :)

Rockstar

Us musicians ARE here for you guys when you need us. But as Rysen stated, it's a bit frustrating to create great pieces of music and find out the game will never be released.

Those doing serious projects (and by serious I don't necessarily mean big, I just mean serious as in going somewhere, getting a good amount of work on, and getting released) just need to ask.

Of course, Rysen offered first, so I don't want to take his place or anything; ask him first :P

Some of my work can be heard here.
