Anyone here who would like some tiles or sprites for their game? A small mockup?

Shout out some things you want me to draw. Be reasonable.

I'm willing to draw them, because I feel like practicing pixel art, and hopefully helping people out with their game projects, in a small way.

There are some rules (subject to change, with terms applying retroactively):
* Anything I requested in this thread is free for anybody to use and modify, so long as you give me credit for the original.
* I am not doing animations, nor full sprites. (Unless I feel inspired for some reason) But I'll give you bits and pieces!
* I am not likely to do your whole game's art. It's more for me to gain practice, and to build up a bit more pixel art, while sharing with others who need a hand starting their game art.

Go!

You should bother Grue or Gayo to see if there's any Sully-related stuff that you could be working on! Off-hand I'm sure they could use more monsters and townsfolk and the like.

I recently tried my hand at some pixel art and promptly found harakiri would be infinitely less of a disgrace. However, I have managed to pull apart a couple sprite sheets I found that could be passable, but I would *greatly* appreciate some floor tiles (assuming you still have the time). Think of those thin boards in old bare-floor houses.

If you don't have the time, but perhaps could point me in a direction that could demonstrate some proper technique in pixel-art, that would be just as well.

Thanks.

I can probably help you draw floor tiles. So when you say "thin boards", do you mean like hardwood?

And, for good critique on your art, venture on over to the Pixelation forums. A ton of talented artists go there, and a lot have industry experience. There's also plenty of new people who're there to learn and improve.

They'll pick apart the problems with your art and help you realize things you probably wouldn't see otherwise! There is also a lot to be gained by viewing other peoples' art, and studying how they do things.

There are a wealth of threads on various things like color selection, anti-aliasing, selout, dithering, the restrictions from various consoles. They even have critique of a bunch of popular commercial games' pixel art! It's pretty handy stuff.

Yes, for some reason, I searched minutes in my head for that word but it still eluded me.

Yeah, funny enough, after doing some searching I found some other sites that present (IMO) some nice tutorials for pixel art. They're posted here.
