I know this came up earlier, but how do I get a 16-bit map from a 16-bit image?

It depends on what you're talking about... If you want the tiles, then just save the file as a pcx or whatever and convert the map to a VSP using a tool from www.vergesource.com. I'm not sure I understand the question. Want to clarify some more?

I have a 640 x 480 picture that I want to make into a map. I hope to make something like Final Fantasy VII.

Well, that's pretty easy to do, actually. All you need to do is download a VSP program from www.vergesource.com and follow its instructions to make it from a bmp or pcx file or whatever it says. Import it into MAPED, and you'll have to put the tiles down one by one... either that, or you can take up a lot of system resources by using an image command in the VergeC code. That's the only way I know how to do it.
