You've made me dizzy with all the to-weeks-delays
and stuff... when will Verge3 be released?

And how can you play a game without music? You said
somewhere that MIDI files won't be usable and I can't
make mp3 songs without a 2000$ keyboard. Ugh... or am
I just stupid?

eh... another stupid question:
Will it be able to make that cool anti aliasing
thing -or what it's called- that makes the sprites
fade into each other? You know, the thing that Super
Nintendo emulator, Zsnes does.

When it's released, and not before. :)
Seriously, no one knows for certain, not even the dev-team, so don't ask. The 2-week delay is on top of everything else they still had left to do.

VERGE does not now and will not ever support MIDI. However, it supports similar types known collectively as MODs. Have a look at ModPlug Tracker (http://www.modplug.com) and poke around with it. If your keyboard has built-in midi support (most recent ones do), you can even use it to record your song in MOD format (XM or IT to be specific). I personally don't recommend using MP3s as background music, as they take up a LOT of cpu time anyway, but there are programs that can convert midis to wavs (which can then be MP3 compressed) - Have a look at timidity (http://www.goice.co.jp/member/mo/timidity/), and the most recent WinAmp (http://www.winamp.com).

It's called translucency, and yes, it will. Most versions of V2 already support this. Try V2k+j(dos) and V2.6r5(win) for the best support. Plus, V3 should have even BETTER support for it. You can find out how to use it by reading what few docs there are available (links, anyone?).

Hope this helps.

Thanks, Arek. Though it wasn't translucency I meant. It's like this thing that makes the sprites softer or something. Isn't translucent stuff that you can "see through"? I'm not American so my english is a bit rusty...

BTW. I'm making a game called Legend of Tynethim and
it'll be for Verge3 when it arrives. If you want to
see some cool (not yet) things about it, check out
www.Ivansoft.tk

Ugh... I just neeed to advertise a bit... hehe...

You mean anti-aliasing? I can't say for certain if V3 will or won't support it, but it might not be too hard to implement yourself. And you can acheive that effect (sometimes considerably better than your video card) by using a good graphics program to process your images/maps before converting them to VERGE-compatible formats. Also, I don't know if V3 will support running a game in a higher resolution than it was designed for (this is mostly why SNES emulators support anti-aliasing), but if it does, it'll probably support some sort of anti-aliasing.

Hope this helps.

everybody, we're talking about 2xSAI, right? The funky thingy that smoothes the pixel edges? Winv2 supports that, and I suppose V3 would support it, too. It would be ultra-cool if they also supported eagle and Super 2xSAI.

It is not wrong to not understand, for we are all ignorant, but neither is understanding pointless.

Yeah. I think V3 will be a really cool program.
If it uses C-based code, it should be possible to
make multiplayer games like Secret of Mana, right?

And thanks for the links to the mod-thing. They
helped me to make my midi songs to that file-thing,
though it sounds a bit better in midi-format (I'm
not that good at the whole mod-thing yet.).

Omni

and yeah, since it can use C and .NET api calls, it should be able to do multiplayer and I think net multiplayer games.
