It's been a while since I looked at any of the RPG engines (OHRRPGCE, VERGE, Sphere, what have you.) I can say that VERGE seems to be FAR more sober than the one I remember from several years ago. Back then the site was punk-ass, and VERGE was the engine of choice for many.

Now...

It seems VERGE is still the engine of choice, but where have all the people gone? The MOOD of VERGE is quite unlike the squalling brat of a community I remember. It was large, boisterous, and although a lot of people were lamers, there was just a little bit of talent amoung them. Now, it's mostly the most devoted of the VERGE crowd, it seems, and a few others.

Simply put, what happened?

Also, how good is the new version of WinV2? Is it a standalone download, or do I need V2.7 for it?

Thanks all.

winv2 is completely unrelated to v2.7, which has undergone a name change. It is now ika.

As for winv2, it's basically DOS v2, with some stuff from v2k, and ported to windows. It's more stable too.

Thanks, Speed.

Still, I'd like my other question answered: what on earth happened to VERGE's attitude while I was gone for so long? Even the SITE DESIGN is more sober. All this dark blue/gray... I remember when the site was VIOLENTLY green. Seriously, look at it the wrong way and you end up missing a tooth. :p

Ben McGraw's lovingly crafted this website from scratch for years.
It's a lot prettier this go around because of Jon Wofford.
