every time i leave verge for a few months and come back i forget every single thing i learned about verge... especially the character maker.... i do what it tells me to in the text file but all the thing does is open a dos window that says something about parsing, dumbing, reading image, collecting frames and compressing then complete.... either i should stop doing drugs so i can remember or someone should make step by step text files that tell everything in detail instead of saying exceute it with an extension as the only arguement... this kinda stuff can get a stoner like me confused....

assuming that doing what the text document tells you do is

a) dumping your (character name).mak onto the exe
or
b) running the chrmak program through dos prompt and
passing it your (character name).mak

this creates the file (character name).chr which you can open in V2 character maker

does this clarify your problem? if not, post again with specific details on what you need

depends on what verge format you are using, different chr makers make chrs for different versions.

there is no great program to do the actual creation in, I just use paint shop. any art program will do, I only use PS for the ease it lends me in my animations.
you will have to use chrmak to convert the bmp you create into a verge-readable file. you can get it under downloads, verge2, verge2 utilities.

Ben McGraw's lovingly crafted this website from scratch for years.
It's a lot prettier this go around because of Jon Wofford.
