Well, ok, I'm new. I read the first turtorial, and I know that now I need to make console.gif.... How do I do that? The tutorial only explains that it needs to be 320x120. How do I make this gif file? Do I need special software? Any help is appreciated.

I can e-mail you console.gif if you want me to. Or, you can follow the procedure below.

Easy way to get a console.gif. All you need is MS Paint.

1. Go into the evil Microsoft Paint program. (forgive me for suggesting this)
2. Make sure that the "Pixels" is selected under "Unit". Click image, then attributes and set X / Y size to 320 x 120.
3. Make sure that under attributes, that "Colors" is selected, not "Black and White".
4. Do SAVE AS, and use .gif (Graphics Interchange Format) for file type. Save under file name: console.gif

Note: MS Paint is nearly useless for making reasonable graphics.

It is faster and easier to damage something than it is to create or repair it. Isn't it? I'm called FRF_Verger on VergeSource and in my games, if I make any.

I followed the instructions you gave me. I'm getting closer. I created a basic console (grey ;) ), but when I use Save As, there is no option to save it as a .gif. I tried just saving it as console.gif, but now it's just a .bmp file called console.gif. Is there something I'm missing or doing wrong? Thanks for your help.

Windows 95 Paint does not save gif images. If thats what you are using, then thats the problem. I can e-mail you the console.gif.
