Site is really sweet. Love it. It seems like everyone has some new things to share. Vrpg.com, Ric, and now me (I guess). :)
I've been going to school for 3D Studio Max for 3 months now. The quarter just ended and our final project is due. I've been working on this for 2 weeks. I wanted to create an interior of a museum at night. That thingy in the middle of the pic is a diamond. Let me know what you all think.

that shit is awesome!
honestly, i appreciate this stuff alot. i have 2 friends who also attend 3d animation schools, but in 2 weeks, they can't crank out anything decent looking compared to this.
i like how you used the textures and lighting - it REALLY helps the ambience alot... and that ceiling - isn't that the 'stained glass' photoshop filter? ^_-
it's kind of hard to see the diamond from this distance. maybe it's the lighting.
anyhow, excellent work. i could seriously see this being used as like, prerendered graphics for a commercial game. :)

Thanks. Yes, that is the stained glass filter from photoshop :) I used it because that IS meant to be a stained glass window.
3D is my thing. I used to do some good verge stuff, but I came to realize that 3D (for me) is the way to go. 2D can be nice, but you can only do so much. I wish there was a sort of 3D RPG Creator. Maybe a 3D Verge?

Supposedly, when Anachronox comes out (the Ion Storm Quake2engine RPG by Tom Hall & co), it will have full tools for users to create their own 3D RPGs. It would be a lot more work than your average VERGE game, however -- Anachronox itself has been in development for several years, as have most 3D RPGs.

It takes me two weeks, to get around to finishing a map. What do I think of it? God, If only real life could look that real. Astonishing. I hope you go far with that skill.
