Hello,

My name is David Boyd. I a on of the founders of The Avatar Patch online gaming community. We recently abtained rights to a game called DarkSun Online. The game was shut down two years ago do to the fact that the company that ran it was bought out by EA. We petitioned the company and they permited us to use and run any part of the DSO game. THe origional server ended up beeing non retrievable as it was erased but we did manage to get the client end code. We instead of wanting to write a server based on teh client end source have decided to try one of the new online game engines out. We where told that Verge has the ability to become a onlien game engine. We where wondering if anyone here would like to work with me to make a Online Game. We have 3000 map tiles, 6000 items,500 character annimations, thousands of sound files and alot of game art. If you would like to work with me and have experience editing the Virge engien and make it a online engine pleaes contact me back.

... consider donating what you have towards Verge Online. That's our current online project. The Verge engine isn't natively internet-enabled, but it could be with some Python code (which Verge uses for scripting). But if anyone here is interested in working on an online game, it's Verge Online.

The people you want to talk to are on #verge and #vchelp on esper.net (any of the following addresses: chocobo.esper.net, cosmos.esper.net, dream.esper.net, neskaya.esper.net, and weyr.esper.net). In particular, the_Speed_Bump, loretian, and vecna are who you should talk to. Or just wait a few hours and I'm sure one of them will post in this thread.

If you're willing to give towards a server, talk to loretian (loretian@verge-rpg.com). He's currently handling server-related issues.

It's a lot prettier this go around because of Jon Wofford.
