I'm trying to display a 64x64 PCX with CopySprite or ScaleSprite, in V2. I can successfully display a standard VERGE image like Dexter.pcx or Pointer.pcx (the FF hand pointer), but when I display my own PCX, I get a block of scrambled graphics. If I open Dexter.pcx in a graphics program and re-save it, the same problem appears. How do I solve this problem?

I'm thinking that it saves with the wrong palette.
Before you save it, you'll have to import the propper palette, which can be found here:

Are you sure it isn't the graphics program you're using? Try another.

I can't wait until VergeX is done, no palettes :p (But it still supports transparency :)

First of all, I said change the name (VERGE 3) because it was copyrighted as tSB said so MANY times to us :). Secondly, WHY....I repeat WHY are you calling this VERGE anyway. If you're righting it from scratch then call it a new engine instead of desperately trying to hold on to the VERGE name (nobody start giving me any tSB's VERGE-Python arguments now, done with 'em).

PLEASE don't start advertising VERGE X everytime someone has a problem with an early build of VERGE. I've seen it happen so many times. VERGE 2.7 beta 10 has supported no palettes and transparencies for months now.

you stay awake for 3 days straight, and see how much thought you put into your posts :p

Though I hold onto the name because the thing will work exactily like VERGE, the same syntax, the editors look basically the same (accept for a few enhancements). The only real difference is stability (unless 2.7 is a lot more stable), MID and MP3 compatability... oh i'll shut up about it already!

besides, i'm, once again, going on a 2+ week trip so it's useless to "advertise" now anyway :p

Ahem, don't be a hypocrit. If you're about to denounce someone also making a different version of Verge, you should at least give the same advice to tSB.

In other words, no one's really complaining but the people helping/advocating with v2.7. Are you afraid of competition or something? If not, just ignore the posts he make and go on with your business.

1) I asked politely for nobody to start Verge-Python replies. Ahh well...
2) Where exactly did I denounce his engine? I just asked him why he was calling it VERGE.
3) Many people are complaining about his engine, I'm not one of them, and you haven't seen any of them post a note so you don't know if they're V27 advocates. They may be advocates of not splitting VERGE into the multi-version abyss. I'm complaining about him being ignorant to the fact V27 hasn't used palettes for a long while now so stop acting like it's a great new feature of his engine. I'm also complaining about his constant use of plugging his engine (read his posts above).

Not a flame, just like people to have their facts straight. ;)

1) Too bad.
2) From my point of view, you were and you were not being a hypocrit, but you were being selective (which made me figure that...well, ya know).
3) I am sorry that I classified use as an advocate, but from (again) my point of view, they are the ones pressing for this new "Verge" standard, which is getting on my nerves (because I don't agree that it's Verge, it's something else and probably something good, but it ain't Verge). Also, so what if he constantly ups the good sides of his engine and get people to use it? Isn't that what you would do? He's trying to get people to use it. I mean, an effort goes to total waste if there is no use or result in the long run.

I don't care if it's called VergeX or what, since no one's come up with a better name yet.

Geez, who wants to type "the engine formerly known as Verge" in every single post? Everyone give the name game a rest. As long as we all know what everyone's talking about, who cares what we call it?

That is all.
