I do think that people are harsh here... and sometimes, too negative towards the people they dislike, and too positive towards the people they like. It's a biased community, but hey, live with it :P
Anyways, sometimes a low profile will work, with more personal research etc. Or make a friend who's good in coding and ask that friend ^_^; Still, don't feel hopeless for the Verge community, it's big, it's bad, and it churns out kickass products every other day.

Now I will admit that once you get on the "Verger Newbie Blacklist" all of your posts tend to be answered with sarcasm and harshness.
But first let's look at what could cause you to be put on the blacklist:
(note: some or all of these may apply, and this list is not in any sort of order)
1. Excessive, unnecessary posts
2. Refusal to attempt to learn yourself
3. Assuming everyone has nothing better to do than to write your game for you
4. Asking the same question over and over again
5. Refusing to RTFD
6. etc...
Now, the above is just a small example of the kinds of things that could get you blacklisted...and, unfortunately, once you're blacklisted, you have to prove to the majority of the community that you really aren't as lame as they all think you are. (often not easy) So your best course of action is to avoid getting put on it in the first place.
Now, those of you who are already on it, that doesn't help too much, except I can offer a few words of wisdom to help you get off:
First of all, read the docs. After you're done, read them again. Then, find a SMALL SIMPLE piece of code (as can often be found in the tutorials on tVS (http://www.vergesource.com/)) and read through it until you can understand exactly how it works.
Secondly: while it's not necessary, a book on C/C++ is not a bad idea. You can pick up a simple "Learn C++ in 10min" book for a few dollars in any bookstore, and it will tell you enough to get you started.
Thirdly, rather than post 100 posts to a message board asking 50 different questions, do this:
- Write 1

You cut off my last post ^_^
Anyway, to continue...
Thirdly, rather than post 100 posts to a message board asking 50 different questions, do this:
- Write 1 post in which you describe IN DETAIL, EXACTLY what you want to accomplish
- Ask ALL of your pertainant questions there
- Include what you've written so far to show that you've at least TRIED
- Don't ask someone to write it for you
Now, I don't exactly remember what I wrote beyond that except to offer, as a sign of good faith, a link to a C/C++ tutorial site:
http://www.tutorialhound.com/c/tutorials/c_tutorials.shtml
Now, you can pretty much ignore everything except for the following tid-bits:
-Variables
-Functions
-Decision Making Constructs (IF-ELSE, SWITCH-CASE, etc)
-Loops (FOR, WHILE)
-Arrays
Things you should particularily ignore are:
-Pointers
-Classes
-Structures
-Multi-dimensional Arrays
-All "Hello World!" examples
I hope this leads you on to a more successful life in VERGE...

If nothing has changed since I left the Verge community, the only real way to get off the lamer list is to actually release a halfway decent demo. Also, if someone can do art, they can usually get someone to do their coding in exchange for some art done for the coder (at least, that's the way I'd like it to work). Not that there are any good artist who can't do their own code (is Spram still around?).
