Yo! Apparently I somehow overlooked your posts back on the 9th, I dunno how that happened. I was just testing the screenshot and entire mapshot functionality and noticed the entire mapshots seemed to be disabled. Are they still garbling for you in the current version? At any rate, here's one to try:

Should be version 2.4.17.

As for when the next incarnation of jwinmaped2 comes out, I couldn't be sure. Perhaps a couple of weeks, maybe less. I mention a little bit of my activity in my most recent LJ entry, but I'm keeping things low key for the moment. I want the tool to actually have something worthwhile to offer for the next release, which will be the first "working" version, so I'm gonna take a little extra time smoothing out all the rough edges.

It still won't work. Just downloaded the latest version, but it still looks all messed up. See for yourself... These .pcx files it outputs are proof. Unless, maybe it's has something to do with using a V1 map & tileset.

Heya bob, those images come up just fine for me in Paint Shop Pro. I'm guessing you're using either a very old bit of software to view them, or you're using a bit of hand-crafted software by yourself or someone else (or possibly even a version of V2) to try and view them, which may well have a flawed loader. Let me know if they come up for you in any other apps. I'd also be interested to know what you're using to view them. Thanks!

Well, I'm using a really crappy program called Imaging (came with Win98), just so I can view them quickly. But, I've also tested it under Neopaint & GIMP. So, let me get this straight, the pictures aren't distorted looking on PSP, but they are on my computer?
Why is it only that the pictures from Maped2w have done this?

Yeah, they show up fine in both PSP 5 and Photshop LE 5. However, interestingly, they don't show up correctly in the latest Photshop. I assume you've never had this problem before with the old maped from back in the day. The code was pretty much copied directly over, but this is an interesting problem, so I'll be tweaking it to see what the winning combination is.

Alright! Kudos on this one, I surely wouldn't have noticed it on my own, seeing as I only had Photoshop 5 LE and Paint Shop Pro 5 installed on my machine. Apparently what happened was I made a very subtle boo-boo in the PCX encoder when porting it over and changing some of the variable names. I've just tested the screenshots and loading them up in ACDSee, which was also exhibiting the same skewing behavior, and it seems to be loading them in correctly.
Give 2.4.18 a whirl!

The map capture and screenshot now work.
The PCX exporter still is screwy, however:

It seems to be doing the same thing the screenshot and full capture used to do. Thanks for the help, because I know I'll need these tools sometime.

Alright, this is fixed now as well. Accidentally zapped the code that output padding bytes for images which weren't a multiple of 4 in the encoder.
Should be version 2.4.19 now:
