Hi. This from the game i'm creating, "SHADOW REALMS"

The shadow realms. This legend has choas and fear. Something disturbed the realms, causing havoc to reign. Life is clouded with uncertainties, especially now. War wages constantly, generating a repeated loop of suffering. Something must be done. In a small coastal town called Elric, problems are starting. What has become of the future? Only minutes will tell.

The sky is a dark shade, looking as if the clouds could burst with wet precipitation. The water starts to rush violently. My friend and I stand out on a peering cliff, wondering what is to happen next. It doesn't look to friendly in our surroundings.

I say to her, "Sak, we should probably talk later. It could storm any second."

"Sak" I call her, though I know her name really is Sakura. I await her response, looking at her blue eyes and long blonde hair. We've been out here for a while, discussing things... For quite some while.

"It would be a good idea to head back. After all, we've been here a big portion of the day. Town isn't that far. We can talk on the way there", she replies.

I feel a few drips on my head. "Alright then, let's go."

A loud thunder signals in agreement. We now make our move, dashing towards the city, trying not get wet. To be more specific, the inn of the city, the Elmsberry. The people there treat us like family, not having a family to call my own. They have a son named Ryu, who is about the same age as us. Eighteen.

A roaring wind blows at me. We're almost there, I think to myself. Even nature has become unbalanced... Do the shadow realms really have that much influence?

We make it just outside the town and halt. The town is in flames. I'm suprised they still burn even in these wet conditions. Among all the havoc, stands a silhouette of a person, seemingly unaffected by what is going on. I watch as a merchant confronts this figure.

Soon, combat ensues between the merchant and mysterious silhouette of a knight. They draw swords and hack away at each other. The merchant is as experienced as the knight, suprisingly. This fight doesn't last for long, as the knight soon unleashes some deadly manuvuers, knocking the merchant off of his feet.

The merchant gets up and dashes after the powerful warrior. He is gaining footing against the knight. Then the merchant strikes the warrior towards the ground. He is about to finish the shaded figure. In mid-swing, the merchant is stabbed and killed on the spot. Now what will happen?

I say to Sakura, "Stay here."

"Are you crazy? Stop and think first!", she loudly replies.

"I've thought it over and I'm going to confront that man!", I say.

"I guess it can't be helped. But if you get in a bad situation, I'm gonna jump in.", she says.

I run over with haste. Before I head to him though, I run up to the merchant to take his sword. I take a close look at the body. It isn't a merchant! It's the blacksmith I was apprenticing under. Why did he die this way? I will avenge him. I won't let his life go to waste. His name was Mantra. A good man, though sometimes a bit pushy. I slip the blade from his hands and now aim my attention to the knight. He is looking straight at me.

"What's the matter, Triad?", said the cold stranger's voice.

"Who are you? And, how do you know my name?", I quickly and fearfully reply.

"Don't you remeber me? They call me Zenith. ", said the knight.

"No. And I don't want to either. JUST TELL HOW YOU KNOW ME!!", I shouted with rage.

Zenith replied, slightly amused, "Hahahahaha... I'll tell you.. but you seem to have other business right now.."

"What other business?! I don't care any more!! Draw your sword! I'll take your life, you sick bastard!!"

He burst out laughing. I took a quick look at him. In his eyes was contained an evil I could not describe. His hair a blue scrappy mess, whirled with the wind. His armor was in a mess. It was dented and badly rusted away from use. The rain rolled down my skin as awaited his answer.

"I accept your challenge. You must know that you are a fool to fight me", said Zenith.

I begin to duel Zenith. I never knew combat was so difficult. Luckily, I blocked every advance he attempted. I wasn't gaining any ground either. I was gaining fatigue, which isn't a good thing. He,on the other hand, was fighting with the same output constantly. He never seemed to tire. I've got to hold my ground, I think to myself, I can't let the blacksmith's life be for nothing. I can't hold much longer. I feel my stamina depart and find myself unguarded. I can't die now. I won't die now. I must go on.

"For a person who wanted to fight me, you don't put up much of a challenge", Zenith replied.

I won't stand here and be mocked any more. I yell, "This is enough. I won't die today! I won't let you get a way either!"

He slashes at me, just missing me. "Is that so..?"

Suddenly, adrenaline kicks in and I put up great power output. I make it through his guard and stab him in the arm. This rendered him temporarily defenseless. So I thought. He instead swiftly counter-attacked using his weaker arm. I feel the sword pierce through my flesh. A sensation of pain overwhelms me.

I feel under strong control of rage suddenly. I won't let him get away. He is going to pay. The pain causes to act spontaniously. I can't hold my body back on more. It's acting on instinct.

"Prepare for a world of pain", I retort.

Even the words of my mouth aren't controlled by me anymore. I want to stop, but can't. I don't feel right killing someone, either way. The most I wanted to do at first was cause him to regret what he did. Now, though, I'm serious. I feel my hands move up and slice the sword away from his hands. Then I feel my sword pulling back and readying another strike.

I slash from left to right then back from right to left. Two slashes. These are absorbed by the armor, but he still feels the impact. Then I stab, progressing in an upward direction. This shattered Zenith's protective plate. He now was trully without any defense mechanism. He had a cape and one shoulder guard. That was it. I disarmed him, and broke his only other strong defense.

I feel fury leave me and feel a sudden uncertainty enter. It has stopped raining, though it's still cloudy. The once heavily burning buildings were extinguished as I fought. Now there was only one thing left to do. Grab the sword before he does. Sakura still stands watching, still concerned about my safety. She seems too overwhelmed with emotion and confusion to aid me.

What am I doing here? No time to think. I've got to grab the sword. Zenith also gazes at the sword. We both dash towards it. He throws me down just as I was making it there. He grabs the sword. It's hopeless now. I have very little energy or knowledge of what to do now. I don't want to fight anymore. I don't have the will power. He towers over my body and prepares to stab me. I guess this is it. I just wish I could have done a few things before I died. I also wish I wouldn't die this way.

POW! Quick thinking. Sakura manages to pelt him with a rock. This causes him to collapse and drop the sword. I grab the sword quickly and run. I no longer feel the strength I did earlier. I don't have the courage to kill him right now. So I initiate a different plan; run away to the coastal cliff and throw the sword in to the deep waters below. I will thow mine in as well, so he won't take my weapon and use it against me. I hope this works.

I run like the coward I am. I make it there with Zenith in hot pursuit of me1. I throw them as fast as I can. It's a success. They submerge under the water. What am I to do now though?

My wound still hasn't been aided. It is causing me to shake a bit. I watch as the knight Zenith runs toward me. I try to evade him but I can't pull it off. I get hit off the edge of the ravine.

I'm falling! What am I going to do? I need a rock, a tree, anything to break my fall. I manage to grab hold of a branch. The branch collapses. Crap, I think, what now? I land in the cold water. It isn't good to know my open wound is in salt water and is probably starting to get contaminated. The water is still moving violently.

I see an odd opening in the side of the coast. Perhaps I can ezit through here? It's fairly tight, but at least it's better than being trapped in the ocean. It seems to be quite straight, but with many jagged rocks. It also is way drier than outside, and no rain is making it in here. I travel not to far before I hear a voice.

"Triad, is that you?", says a familiar voice. It's Ryu. This must be under the inn.

I respond, "Yes, it's me. Is the knight still there?"

"Not sure", answers Ryu, "It's hard to see through these fogged windows. Sakura is here too."

I climb up the odd tunnel. It well was hidden beneath some floor boards and a bed. Sakura stands waiting at the top.

"Do you think it's safe to go out now?", I questioned the others.

Sakura responds, "I wouldn't take my chances. I saw the knight leave. But there's no telling if he'll come back again. It's raining anyways. Plus, you're wounded. Three reasons why not to go outside."

"I guess you're right.", I said "Well, I'll talk to you guys more tomorrow. Good night."

I get my wounds looked after. Then I head off to bed, as does everyone else. I can't sleep. What if he does come back? Why did my friend die this way? How does that knight know my name? Why are problems being brought up even more constantly? Tomorrow is another day. I must sleep to prepare. Then I must act.

Comments? Typos (likely)? Is it worth creating into a game?

Well, dunno about anyone else, but I'M certainly interested. (: My only suggestions: don't call Sakura "Sak"... being in Japan right now, this butcherization of a Japanese name PAINS me. (: Call her "Saku" if you need a nickname... but not "Sak". (: Also, the story's writing could use a bit of fine-tuning, a bit of rewording (sorry, I graduated an English major, so I notice these kinds of things!)... but since it will theoretically be made into a game anyway, it won't involve much wording to begin with, so it's really no big deal. (:

Overall, I'm intrigued by the mysteries you've presented, and by the overall dark and desperate atmosphere of this... intro? I'd LOVE to see it in game form, and would play it for sure.

Thanks, Wyrdwad. I'm aware that I'm not a very good speller and that was merely a type-up of a rough notepad storyline. My demo game has about 16% progress. The demo will have an ATB battle system, and proper magic and item systems built in. It took me about 4 months to create the systems.

Now all I need is sprites and artwork that go with the game's theme.I'd say the game could be out by Christmas if I worked hard enough. The rest of my team is waiting for the demo so that I can show them how to operate VERGE (they have little/no programming skills). As soon as I get graphics, my game go alot faster.
