Well, I had a lovely Christmas Break and now I'm ready to get back on track with the VERGE community. And how better to kick things off than by displaying an utterly unrevealing and rather compressed shot of the game I'm working on:
OK, so it's just the title screen, but I'm in the middle of converting over to a newer version of V2. Speaking of which, has anybody else been having problems getting the new lucencies in V2k+j working? They all look like the old lucency, even side by side. VCC and VERGE recognize the calclucent command, but it doesn't seem to work. Anybody got any clues?

Well, it seems this board doesn't like images after all, so how about a link to http://opolis.homestead.com/files/alphad.gif instead?

Well, I use POV-Ray (http://www.pov-ray.org/). Yeah, I know what people say: Raytracing is too slow, POV-Ray is too hard to use, [Program X] is better, etc... But I still like it. (And besides, it's free.) It takes patience to learn and use the scripting language, (no fancy GUI for you!) but the results can be stunning. The only thing I really regret is the lack of a keyframe system, though with all the user support it has, I bet there's one out there I just don't know about. Oh, listen to me! I sound like a salesperson... (Now if only I could get the slagging media effects to work...)

That should be http://www.povray.org/ although the other one will get you there eventually...

I tried to use it once, at best, I made this sphere, but only once could I accually center the view onto it. Bah, then I switched to Rhino 3D, which can save in Povray format, just not correctly* )
* Pov-ray cannot load Rhino 3D povray meshes, incorrect save file version perhaps?
But I agree with you it can make some beatiful stuff, but it takes forever to learn. And longer to master.

A lone brucekid blossoms on the river stone.
Alpha drac(+)nus title shot falls to the general board.
The legend of the first dragon.
They said puff was the first.
memories...
*ahem*(dawns operatic pulpit)
*Puff,(choir:*puff*) the magic dragon, lived by the sea. and froliced in the auttumn myst, in a land called hanalea! Little (choir:*puff*) jimmie paper, loved that rascal puff, With shoes and ships and ceiling wax, and other handy stuff!... oh dear. I think I faulted.*
I forgot the words to that song on my first performance. Hope Giovanni will forgive me. I watched that show almost every day, at age5. All I can remember now is jimmie paper, the flute, a boat, a sad ending about the coming of age, spagghetti, And the misquote "music hath charms to sooth the savage beast"(It's really the savage breast, but the rules of children's shows and all...). Does anyone else remember that show? I'm so sad I forgot it. You're screenshot indirectly summoned up sad memories, and I'll never forgive you!*sob*
If I had 50$ I'd buy a lot of grapes.
