Whenever I type in the "hicolor" line in the system.vc and run VERGE, it returns an error saying "unable to open hicolor [resolution I'm using]" (the resolutions I try are valid). If I exclude "hicolor", it returns errors "complaining" about my using hicolor CHRs (I'm not; when I run it without "hicolor", I use regular V2 CHRs). Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a known solution? Is it just a problem with my computer system (i.e., an incompatibility)? Thank you for any input. *NOTE: I do not use the quotation marks around "hicolor" when I type it in.

First off, VESA is evil, and never quite works on all computers for some reason. :P 640x480x16 is the most commonly supported mode, have you tried that?
I have no idea why it would complain about loading a hicolour CHR if you aren't doing exactly that, though. Try loading them up in Rane's V2CHR. If it bombs out, then it's probably actually a hicolour CHR.

Are you sure you want to be typing it into the system.vc? Try putting it into user.cfg

I'll have to try that resolution. Also, I can load all of the CHRs I use for this with the V2CHR editor. They are indeed V2 CHRs. Thanks.

Sorry for any confusion. I must have typed "system.vc" by mistake.
