upon going to tVs I saw Hov contest entries, and alongside the title I saw thingies like 96, 205, 24, 48 etc etc hours of verge...
first... what are these for, secind, what do the hours mean??

Well the numbers beside the titles show how many ours each team had to make their entry. The whole point of HoV's, Hours of Verge, is to assemble a team and create a small game based on the given topic. So if the contest is a 24 HoV, you have 24 hours to complete your demo/game. Hope that explains it. =)
