I've been around since the early days of V1, and through all the different iterations of V2 (2.01, 2.5, v2+i, 2.5k+j, 2.6, 2.7, etc.) I've decided that I still like V1 the best for building a game.

I've run into a problem.

I've got the winverge 0.99 release (the one available on this site) which contains both Main.exe and winverge.exe to run the game (one for DOS, one for Windows, obviously).

Now, this is also the version where a bunch of new functions were added that let you call different sub-menus (Item, Magic, etc.) directly through VC, etc.

The problem is that winverge.exe doesn't recognize the new functions. Main.exe (and vcc.exe) recognizes them, but it's DOS, so support is sketchy at best, and plus, on my system it plays music at about 3x speed, has crackly fade-in/fade-out effects, and shows a hideous purple box around any sys_displaypcx images in the startup script!

Is there a winverge.exe somewhere that's updated with the new functions? If not, someone should make on ;) Or, you could tell me how to go about porting the new stuff over from the DOS V1 source. Hopefully the library code is at least close to the same... =P

Someone please help! My game is kewl but Main.exe sucks!

That is all.

The one me and auroraborealisis are working on (tentatively titled "Omega") is using a proprietary engine that'll be in development for a good long while since we're having trouble finding programmers 8(

My personal project, "NOX"... _nothing_ like the Diablo-clone game! ;) is in V1. NOX is a biological weapon custom-built by the evil organization Lunar Typhoon for their evil schemes, and you get to stop them! Wohoo!

I'm working on NOX because I can do so little on Omega right now, seeing as how we lack programmers. Plus, the idea has been turning over in my head for weeks now and is driving me nuts! I have to make it work!

That is all.

Them's some nice characters! I like the middle rock guy the best because he looks really buff ;)

I like how Jean is coming along. She doesn't look much like a paper doll anymore, and that bikini thing is pretty cool! (If a bit cliche, but hey, we're in the RPG biz, right?)

Nice work!

Regarding Omega, aurora is sketching characters but he's bogged down by lots of real-life crap (read: school) so the going's slow. I'll post *something* when he finishes it.

Meantime, I'll post something from NOX real soon. I've almost got material for a sexcellent screenie, but I gotta touch up a few things first :o

That is all.

Ben McGraw's lovingly crafted this website from scratch for years.
It's a lot prettier this go around because of Jon Wofford.
