In knowing what WinV2 will be like...

I'm assuming it'll running on the same arch as V2.7... window / full-screen, for one thing. Also, the mod system has been jacked up to 2.7-level (ITs in V2! Yay!). But never believe the rumours. Speedy promised a cancer-curing plug-in for the 2.7 release, but we haven't even seen screenshots :(

As I understand it, it's an almost direct duplicate of v2k/+j, except that it's windows native.

I've concluded there will be two versions of WinV2: One aimed at the highest degree of compatibility with v2.5/v2k+j, and another one aimed at adding lots of cool features, but that will break compatibility in some significant ways.

The compatible version will be ready any day now; I'd say a release this weekend is likely.

Can't really predict on the other version, since I'm working on VO at the same time as well.

Will the binaries be a little more stable? I haven't been able to get anything for any version of Verge to work over here lately, either because of V2.6's inherent problems or the execs for V2.7 mysteriously crash. I'd like to get back to work on my game. :-(

I'll let this weekend's beta release speak for itself. The release will be very much beta, and I've only tested it on less than a dozen systems. But every indication I have is yes, it will definitely be more stable than v2.6 and very likely more stable than v2.7.
