Awesomeness, finally a good port and upgrade of Maped to windows.

I seem to have found a bug though:

When in zone editing mode, you can go into the negative numbers. I'm pretty sure that would cause a few errors if somebody was to accidentally asign something a negative zone value.

Oh, and when will jwinmaped2 be released? That is all. Thanks.

The built-in screensaver manages to go off even though I'm using the keyboard (playing Columns).

Sorry for loading you up with a bunch of simple bugs to fix.

Heya bob! How embarassing, I couldn't remember my old password. Thankfully it's easy to create new accounts. ^_^

I appreciate the bug hunting. I am very much relying on user feedback to improve maped2w's stability, which at this point is very likely suspect. As mentioned in my LiveJournal, I pretty much blindly ported the entire thing over the course of a few hours or so. After that the majority of bugs have been reported thus far by McGrue and Zara. At any rate, I don't use maped2w at all in my spare time, so it will only ever be as good as the feedback I get. Keep'em comin'!

I've uploaded another build which fixes the prior two bugs you've mentioned. It can be downloaded here:

The most current day-to-day builds will always be available through my LiveJournal at http://www.livejournal.com/~aen/.

hah, I lost my password too. Whence the "_" after my name. Anyway.

I'm assuming that this is probably going to be the official bug report thread. ^_^ So I just noticed something while messing around, that when you try to import tiles from a PCX, and have a rather large amount, if you try to scroll down to get at other tiles, the screen doesn't move, although the tile number does where it says "Import Tiles: x/x".

Great job though! I'm looking forward to using this. :)

(By the way Grue, those are some pretty awesome maps you packed in there. I especially enjoy the cave.)

I'm just glad people are pointing these things out! I've fixed the bug you mentioned, and posted a new link for download on my livejournal.

Today, I discovered two bugs:

1) If your mouse or menu happens to go outside the boundary of the map, because the map is smaller than the screen, it will leave weird smears and tracks behind.
2) You can only save one screenshot or map capture at a time. For some reason, if there's already a "0.pcx", it will just overwrite it, instead of making the screenshot's filename with the next unused number.

The first bug doesn't really seem to be very big, but a little annoying. The second bug could prove to be very frustrating if you want to take multiple screenshots, and you haveto manually rename each file after every screenshot.

Thanks for the other updates. Hope you can fix these too.

Ah, I see what you mean about the small maps. As for the screenshots, it actually will save unique images as long as they're all saved within the same editing session. It's always been that way I believe, even in the old maped, but I remember idly passing that during the port and thinking to myself how it'd be much better if it would check what screenshots were already present and not overwrite them. Thanks for the reminder!

These bugs are fixed now and detailed along with another item or two in my LiveJournal.

One new discovery:

[*] Toggling the tile animation to ON in tile edit mode doesn't animate the tiles.

And if you haven't already seen these errors:
