Ok, working on a female template character and that's what I came up with. Drawing women is infinitely harder than drawing men, and trust me I'm familiar with the female figure ...heh...ermm..ok. Something just isn't right with that woman and I don't know what it is.
The male character was put there so I could show you the new shading trick I used (just blured it) and you could tell me if you like it better than original shading (which is still at ../paradoxa2/character.png)

familiar with the female figure? hah. more like familiar with the barbied doll figure.
point one. females legs are longer than male legs, meaning that her waist should be higher than the mans, much higher. speaking of waist, its too small, which would normally make her hips and breasts seem huge, in this case, they allready are huge! which makes them seem enormous. her shoulder line is too sloping, makes her neck long. too much distance between chin and chest.
something uninvolved, I'm not a fan of the way you shade, I think it looks dirty, and smudgey. almost like your shading just to shade. especially from the waist down. to fix this I would
a)( dirty ) shade the colors from base to some other color that is not inbetween that color and black. I didn't check for sure, but it seems like all you do is shade to or towards black, I don't like it.
b) (smudgey) shade with a purpose and a light source in mind. you know how if you want to make someone look evil in cinema, you put a light beneath them, i.e. holding a flashlight under your face? that's what you've done in places with un-named girl in question. the underside of her breasts is higlited, the upper portion shaded, the way you shaded the hair helps ( or rather doesn't help ) in the same way.
sorry if I came off so critical, .chr's are all I do.

.....I was kidding :P
females legs are longer than male legs
I extended the shirt too long so her leg length wasn't correctly percieved. My fault.
...etc etc. etc.
I agree on all your points. I just don't see the smudgey/dirty shading in the male character. The shading on the woman is completely wrong- I'm currently figuring out how to do it from the right angle. Fading to black was not done, I may have faded to a shade that's too dark tho, I'll try to correct. Her hair, some proportions, and the shading are the main problems I guess.

You came off like an ass, and I loved it. I've made strides in my female character thanks to your help. If I was a .chr artist I'd be offended tho :)

Screw all that technical crap, it looks great. ^_^
A lot of people fail to replicate those relaxed shoulders, and wind up with a miltaristic pose. Very nice.
One coment, though, she looks bored. (falling asleep bored)
