You probably need to palette morph eg
palettemorph(0,0,0,0,63);
Try putting that in your map autoexec (event 0).

I don't think that's it. I tried that and nothing happens.

If you're just seeing pink where you should be seeing black, then it's because v2k translates pure black to that pink colour. Just make those areas of your tiles use the next shade higher, it'll look all peachy again. ^_^
Other than that, I'm not entirely sure what the problem could be. If you're using a DOS build of v2k, then it could be VESA incompatibilities, in which case all I can suggest is that you use v2.6 instead. It uses DirectDraw, which is much more reliable.

I am not sure if that's it. All the other verge2 games that I play work fine. I remember in one of those Fundamental things Aen wrote, he said that when I first started Verge with hit the console button, that the console would be weird colors. So I was like, OK. But him or anyone else never said anything about how to fix the colors!!! now my map, my character, and everythinh else(including the console) are wierd colors. HELP!!!!!

Are you in 8-bit or 16-bit (hicolor)? You can find this out by opening user.cfg in any text editor and looking for a line that would say:
hicolor
if you don't have that, then the problem, most likely, is that you are loading images which use different palettes. If you don't want to convert all of the images to use the same palette, then my recommendation would be to add that line to your user.cfg. You can throw it in almost anywhere...
Let me know if that's the problem...
