hmm apparently verge isn't what i had hoped... my first problem being the tutorials are unclear, my second being that every thing has to be drawn, and my third is that everything is 2D. Ill check back from time to time to see if these flaws have been corrected, peace

Yeah. This kind of sucks for newbies.

my second being that every thing has to be drawn
What do you mean? If you want to make something that looks remotely close to a real game, you have to DRAW the graphics. Did you think the engine would generate the graphics for you?

, and my third is that everything is 2D.
I seriously doubt there will ever be a 3D GCE like Verge. It takes a big production team to make a good 3D game, and I don't think someone working solo, or with their team of 2-3 people can pull off a 3D RPG. Just look around here, for example. Do you see anyone who's even finished a 2D RPG, or got past the demo stage? I think not. So just imaging how it would be for a 3D rpg. I don't think this "flaw" as you call it will ever be "fixed".

Ill check back from time to time to see if these flaws have been corrected, peace
Good luck. I doubt you'll ever come back with such high expectations.

ehm.... graphics that aren't drawn? That makes no sense to me. There's no shortage of public domain art, so you don't have to draw everything yourself. If you go to http://tvs.mastercain.com, there's some real nice stuff. (get the Spram tiles! they rule!)

The tutorials suck, it's true. What nobody mentioned, though, is that #vchelp is better than any tutorial. ;) (join irc.esper.net, default port) The people there would be perfectly happy to help you out.

Fascinating, annoyingly insulting and yet strangely helpful... Well the verge programs lack of help guides (beyond the help post's) is very annoying, but beyond that i believe i can fix the rest, thanks for your help all

It's a lot prettier this go around because of Jon Wofford.
