I was wondering why VERGE2.7 does not have WS_OVERLAPPEDWINDOW set so that all the niffty min/max/close buttons are visible in the upper right? I know, not real important but stupid people won't be able to close the games without that X

WS_OVERLAPPEDWINDOWs are resizeable. Resizing them causes extreme goofiness. ;)

That subject made no sense :)

What if a little, extremely simple GUI was hardcoded into Verge and assigned to a key like F1 that no one's gonna use in their game. The GUI would be kinda like the ones on emulators, but without all the options and stuff. Basically, you could save/load the game state emulator style to a Verge "engine-save" (don't ask, I don't know) and there would also be a QUIT option.

Then you don't need to set WS_OVERLAPPEDWINDOW and deal with that resizing crap, and stupid people have an easy out that doesn't require ALT-F4 and a bunch of wasted RAM (well, okay, maybe not a BUNCH...)

Just a thought. Heck, maybe you could even have the USER.CFG keys in that menu, so you could change engine stuff like that on the fly, mid-game.

And for the perfectionists like me, there could be a func/var like AllowConsole that disables the engine menu.

That is all.

We don't need better engines, we need better creation tools!
