While using maped, Where do i start? i down loaded every verge 1 file And i put winverge09 ,wv_exe, Wv_src , maped, devutil , and ace_ce All in separate files, So reading the tutorials (and the Thingy that the gerf so kindly recommended) i figured i should start in maped, but when i go into maped i see 4 Programs to choose from, and they are Cwsdpmi.exe, Maped.exe, Sled.com, and Vcc.exe And i clicked on maped ece and all it says is no mapname specified, i tried to specify a mapname but it said that the program had already been terminated. is there something im missing here? do i have to create a map before i go into maped? and if thats so where do i create these maps? Oh yeh and one more question, Does the sully file not have a battle engine? i mean do you not get to fight in it, and if thats the case then is someone working on a battle system?

When it says you have to enter a map name, you'll have to do it from a DOS window. Hit start - run (assuming you have windows 95/98) and type command and hit OK.
When the dos window pops up, it would most likely say something like C:\WINDOWS You'll have to find the directory that your files are in. DO go down a directory, type 'cd..' without the 's. Then to open a directory, type 'cd NAME' where NAME is the name of the folder you're opening.
When you're in the folder with your files in it, you'd type 'maped start.map' or use whatever mapname you have.

You should have a program called newmap.exe somewhere. Just run it and it will make a map for you.

No, the Sully Chronicals does not a battle engine. I don't think anyone is making one for Verge1.
I just suggested use the tutorial earlier to get the hang of Verge. You'd probably want to switch to Verge2 when you know what you are doing. It works a bit better and has some useful things, like battle engines, you can download.
