You know how FMV's tend to be well.. big.

Flash Animation... If verge would be able to support flash animation... wow!

They're basically animated PNGs. (Multiple Network Graphic) However, unlike flash, they're legally unencumbered by patents and crap.
I'd dig up the site, but I have run out of time.

Why not flash? Flash is vector-based and should look good in almost any resolution. But MNG's are, indeed more flexible...
