Heres an update to Phantasy Star: Forgotten. Its basically my attempt at a frame work system for V2 for making PS games easier to make. Heh, not much to look at and the documentation is all out of date. But it does have a real party system now, menues, I re-did the BS, so that it is easy to add different types of monsters, and some other things. I include both winv2 and a dos version. For me atleast, the DOS one seems to be really stable. Also, anyone who would do battle animations would be appreciated. Right now its a slide show of pics I ripped (making it very ugly). Well, just wanted to get this out befor athome shuts down and I lose my internet (boooo). Anyways its like 12 and i havent got any sleep in the past 48... so im off to bed (which is also my excuse for any grammer/spelling errors ^_~). Anyways, please feel free to post or email me feedback (bakgwailo@home.com). Thanks!

Not too stable in winv2. :(
I couldn't even get past the intro.

winv2 works but seems to be in the wrong rez, and music slowdown (bug for my comp) is present.
dos verge crashed once and now I get no display after the title screen.

...I noticed a few problems.
1)If all your party members die, the battle doesn't end. Instead, the monsters will attempt to attack a nonexistent character and the game will crash(or actually it freezes, and requires a hard reset).
2)It looks like there's supposed to be a menu bound to button 1, but it doesn't work.
3)The choice of text color and textbox graphics wasn't too good. It's hard to read the text because of the dull gray font color against a swirly blue background sprite.
But besides these flaws, the game(or game system) looks really promising. The intro was well done, and really looked like something out of a real Phantasy Star game. Also, it had a lot of dialogue from what I've seen. The battle system interface was really nice, but it could use a few refinements. Anyway, with a bit of work, this game will be excellent. ;)

hmmm, thats really strange. I guess all I can say is to wait for the next winV2 release which will hopefully take care of these problems. I am in winME, and the dos version works perfectly for me, although I have heard people on ME say it crashes. So strang. It almost feels like working with V1 and its super page faults ^_~ Thanks for (attempting) to play it though!

aiya. That was my experiance too. Did the dos verge (I think it is v2k+j) work? Perhaps try using dosemu for it, or to wine winv2 (It actually made it a bit more stable for me that winME, which is suprizing). Again, hopefully the next version of winV2 will have everything in working order ^_^. Thanks for checking it out though, I appreciate it !

Thanks! I will look into the battle system bug, and I believe the menu is bound to the 'esc' key. I also will replace the text box in the next demo. Thanks for playing it ^_^!

So, v2k_j most definitely does not work. ;)
