Damn, I didn't realize "That is all" was anyone's tagline... what next, is "Ass 'N Titties" going to be copyrighted as well?

Well maybe if you replied to some of the e-mails I'd sent you would have a copy of VO! :D

Hehe. Life's been nuts. I've been bouncing around a lot lately.

...but my email address is still (probably) the one you have. ;) The one at devnull.sh

I'd love to get caught up "offline".

"That's great!" I hear you all cry, "But who are you?"

I was around when V1 was released (just) and I saw the progress of V2 and tried to make it work ... but my patience wasn't so I quickly gave up. I'll be here for V3 and maybe, just maybe, I'll find time to do more than post on boards and read the news *grins*

I dont mess with verge anymore, and no one knows who I am probably, because I tend to be a quiet lurking in the shadows type of dude. But the project I was working on in verge is still under development, just with its own engine. I still read the boards here just cause I've grown onto them or something, but spend more time around the www.swoo.net boards, "GDR" and "Pixelation". Much more lively than this place.

Wow. I'm here. Actively designing, but not for Verge. I got my hands on Blitz Basic and it rules, but V3 might just tempt me back.

"And so the Mcgrue has risen, and with him will rise a slew of long-idle Verger's who got bored with Verge after the 97th version of Verge 2..."

So... Whatever happened to Saga Of The Stars, McGrue? A game that was truly Verging (no pun intended- well, maybe a little) on greatness.

ChaliShank

A friend and I are working on a pretty complicated RPG starring high-school students (and one 21 year old card shark girl) that become heroes of the universe. Pretty standard, right? The battle system is designed to be much more "realistic" in that players can be constantly engaged in melee combat and that there are immense strategic decisions. I love FFVI, but in all honesty it was just a hack and slash RPG with a few strategic battles. We've taken their concept and expanded it with a Esper-turned spell book system. It will be finished (at least a demo of it) by the end of the school year, because we need to finish it to graduate. Anyhoo, we need a CHRMAK that doesn't corrupt our big CHR files in order for it to work. So far, it garbles up anything we put into it, even if it only has 60-some frames. And we've already compiled 80-frame characters, so it seems to randomly mess them up. It's unbelievably frustrating. We need one that doesn't do that. Help would be immsnesly appreciated (I've written a sprite switching routine, but I'd like to keep it down to three or four sprites per character)

Please help!
Any questions shall be answered.
Probably.

Wyrdwad

...you managed to somehow convince someone to let you make a VERGE game for college credit? That kicks arse, my friend!! (:

I've been following VERGE since 1998, but never made anything worth showing.

Right now, I'm planning out a basic RPG; nothing fancy, just something original and (hopefully) fun. I'm not making an FF-style game, because dozens of other people are already making them and that would be boring. I'd say more, but right now it's too early to make any promises. (That, and whatever explanation I could write would make it sound crappy anyway.)

Good lord! You're still alive? :o

Aren't you like, old and stuff now? We're as old as you were when we started all this... so, like, you must be proprtionally older now! ;D

Easy with the "older". Besides... I get a kick out of hanging around with you kids. ;)
