First off, please add more tutorials! :) I found them extremely helpful.

Okay, now the rough part. Every time I try and make a .CHR file, all I get is a bunch of frames of random colors. I have 28 frames of Marle, seperated by one line of black, ready to go, but when I try and import into a chrmak program I downloaded (its not chrmak, its v2chrmk or something like that), it just is a jumbled bunch of random colors. Any suggestions?

Hmm, did you try CHRcONV to many times? what Verge are you using?? could be that it is hi-color.

Sounds like you need to apply the verge palette to your image before converting it. Likely you can find a copy of console.gif, it uses the palette you want to use.

Or, use a 16 bit color capable version of verge, and use Chrmak16.exe.
