I know how much of a bother hard core newbies can be at times, so I appoligize for this inconvenience.. I don't really understand how to use anything in verge2. I read the tutorials, telling me to create certain files.. but I don't know how to create those either, so if someone could help me that would be great.

First you have to download one small demo, and see how it works. It's good to have some programming knowledge and practicing with images and sounds.
It's not difficult, but be patient. I started with V1 (if you want to learn how to program, start with it), and then V2...
Good luck... Maybe others could help you more...

Ok, you should have MapEd, VCC and Verge.exe. To get some of the other things, I recomend snagging them from a demo. I'd choose RTFD - The Game. Why? Because I made it, and don't care who uses stuff from it. http://www.vergesource.com/files/view/360/RTFD01.zip
You need to take: console.gif, system.fnt, trans.tbl
You should know how to make maps with the included docs, so make some.
Then, make a blank text document called sytem.vc
(Open notepad, go 'Save As...' under type select all files and save it as 'system.vc' ) Do the same with the same name as any map, ie forest.map, forest.vc
Make user.cfg in a similar fasion

There, I believe that is everything that you need. Of course, nothing will happen if you try to run verge, but with the starting files I hope you can go in the right direction.
