My friend just came to VERGE and wants to start working with it and was wondering what were some of the best games ever made with it. So I wanted to ask the community as a whole to respond with a few of their favorites even tho I'm sure this question has been asked before.
Here are a couple of my favorites (I know I forgot some):

- The Cure of Dragmoria
- The Quest for Atyre
- Tears of Vengeance
- Galaxy Destroyer
- Sully (actually...I never did get past the "pipes part" :P)

....they're all V1 games...

And incomplete. With the obvious exception of TQFA, I doubt any of them will be completed. But hey that doesn't matter. They are a great waste of time and if they are ever completed, I expect the end products to be good, if not great.

In no particular order:

- Blimpo Warrior -
Cuz it's _done_ and it's really fun, with good humor and a sense of completion (uncommon in verge games).

- Zeux's World -
Impressive as a tech demo and as a game. Anyone serious about verge should at least consider this.

- TQFA -
Especially in its newest incarnation, if the GD thing is ever released! (Sorry, LD)

- Diver Down -
One of the most engrossing stories I've ever experienced in a verge game, plus some nifty effects.

Yeah, that's only four, but I'm picky :)

Okay, here's a fifth, but it's not a game. Fantasy Realms is really inspirational for art, characters, and story. I know it's a manga now but it's a damn cool one! Anyone _really_ serious about Japanese style RPGs (which pretty much covers them all unless you go AD&D) should check it out.

That is all.

The Curse for Dragmoria is a verge2 rpg, and I'd have to give that my vote for the best v2 rpg I've ever played.

But yes, most of them are verge1, and shame on the starter of this thread for not mentioning the best two - Saga of the Stars and The Silver Circle. I saw someone else correct the error though :).

In just taking a glance, I didn't notice that TCoD was in there. But anyway, when you think about it, Verge1 was great. Too bad, no one will finish it.... (*hint hint* Somebody, finish it please.)

verge1 was great and it can still be used. I wish when verge2 came out that emphasis was still kept on verge1. Verge1 is a dreamer's engine, targeted for people who want to write their own story. Verge2 is a coder's engine, best for people who like seeing what they can do. That's why there are very few v2 rpg games, because many are satisfied making tech demos.

My favs are:

-The Quest For Atyre
-Diver's Down
-Vortex
-Saga of the Stars
-Lord of the Ikuzo

All of them have amazing feel, true pearls among Verge games =)

And about TCoD, we had a lil "accident" a while ago, my hard-drive crashed and we lost almost everything we had made for the Chapter 3, the new battlesystem and menusystem, and the bug-fixed and improved Chapters 1 & 2 =( So...it'll be a long time before TCoD gets a full release I'm afraid *sigh* Maybe around Christmas...it would be our third Verge-christmas release then =) We'll see.

And another thing, I really really like the Verge community as it is at the moment, there's that old good spirit again, and there are no longer those idiotic flame wars going on. Great!
