When I want start VERGE (winverge.exe), there comes an error: WAV LOAD ERROR
When I want start VERGE (verge.exe), there comes the message: COULD NOT OPEN USER.CFG.

For VERGE.exe, you need to create a user.cfg file. This is quite simple, just open a text editor (like WordPad or NotePad) and type in the following:
log
startmap test.map
vidmode 320 240
sound_device 0
end
Then save it as user.cfg. If you still get problems, make sure it is user.cfg, not user.cfg.txt. You can fix that by opening a DOS prompt and typing:
ren user.cfg.txt user.cfg
Please let me know if you still experience problems.

WAV LOAD ERROR
This is most likely because you spelled one of the WAV files incorrectly in your VC. Make sure it is the exact same name as whatever Sound Effect you wanna load.

Quick question: Do you have all the neccesary files, or did you just download the exe's and tried to start?
If you could not open user.cgf, you probably need console.gif, system.fnt, and about 6 other things. You can download the starting package for DOS V2 right here:
