Since I haven't released any demo lately, I thought those interested in FFR might think I'm not working on it anymore.

Well, the truth is I am! Here I offer a summary of the changes and features currently available in the actual development tree.

Maps:
- Complete World Map
- Cornelia Town Map (Unfinished)

Tiles:
- World Map tiles under rework
- Town tiles progress is stalled

Music:
- We need a FF1 Theme Song and Boss Battle song yet.

Script:
- The script is written until the Test of Courage. Haven't incluided much of it in the actual game, though.

CHR Files:
- Young Male: Fighter, Thief, Black Belt
- Young Female: Fighter (Unfinished)
- Adult Male: Knight, Monk, Ninja, Red Wizard
- Adult Female: Knight, Monk, Ninja, White Wizard (Unfinished)
- Other: Arylon, Cornelia Guard

CR2 Files:
- Young: None
- Adult Male: Knight, Monk, Red Wizard
- Adult Female: Knight, Monk

Menu System:
- Items, Equip and Config Menus
- Status Screen

Equipment System:
- Weapons, Armors, Shields, Helmets and Gloves, with their respective stats, number of available units on inventory, prices and equipment restrictions fully implemented

Item System:
- All Items available and usable from the game menu

Battle System:
- Menus (Only menus, no actions yet)
- Guage (it fills according to the character's Agility)
- Active and Wait modes available

Other Cool stuff:
- Character Naming
- "Fake" Mode 7 effect in World Map
- In-game Viewable World Map ("M" Key)
- Game windows have opening/closing animations
- Characters move freely (walk diagonally, stand between two tiles, etc.)in towns
- Mosaic effects during transitions

Well, that's it. I'll continue working on it to bring you a fresh new demo with new features worth to give it a try. I originally planned to release a new demo every two weeks, but I noticed only few people like to see a project developing. Others don't really care and just want a demo with new features. I feel sad for the lack of feedback. Most comments I got from you were to tell me my demos aren't much different from any others, and that I should stop releasing my "lame" demos if ther isn't something worth to play. To all those people, I just ask them to keep their comments to themselves and do something productive. I spend MY free time to bring you something, and the least you could do is spend your own free time to do the same for the rest of us. None of us is here to sit and download games only. We are here to develop, to help, to serve, to give feedback...

Oss!

Thank you.

Your contribution is much appreciated.

I uploaded the whole game directory contents as a zip file right here. It includes the CR2 files you just sent me.

Ben McGraw's lovingly crafted this website from scratch for years.
It's a lot prettier this go around because of Jon Wofford.
