I got a system.idx file but now that i've learned to program it tells me that everything except events are aloud and that limits almost every thing.

Events are only allowed in the map's .vc, functions, ints, strings, #includes, and #defines, are only allowed in system.vc, or a .vc #included.

If you have a map named world.map, it's .vc must be world.vc. The events for that map go there, and the functions etc. used in those events, must go in system.vc.

Just download a demo, and look at how they did it. Most demos include all the source code.
