I don't know if anyone remembers me mentioning it before, but I've been making a short VERGE RPG every April 3rd for the past three years for a friend of mine's birthday, and this year was no exception. However, since it's my last year at college, it will probably be the last game (that I, personally, make, anyway).
This most recent game, finished late last night, is a rather elaborate side-scroller using a modified version of Zaratustra's engine, and the plot involves a local drunkard, Phil Allen, attempting to temporarily kill himself through alcohol poisoning so he can meet with God and try to coax Him out of His pants to give to Bridget for her birthday. (: To do this, he has to scour the Ursinus College campus and find five beers and five cans of an ultra-condensed form of alcohol called "Superhol", then go to a secret suite in the party dorm, Reimert, and have the jocks who live there perform the sacred ritual of death.
So, basically, it's a pretty screwed up game. (:
However, it's also quite large, mostly due to the 2-dozen-plus maps and excessively large number of S3M, MOD, and XM songs associated with it. I was wondering if anyone around here is familiar with any good free-webspace sites or any VERGE game depositories to which this trilogy of games can be uploaded. The three of them together total about 45 meg in size (!). I could probably trim it down a little, but all of the games are so haphazard that it might be problematic.
Of course, I don't intend to upload the games right away -- they're riddled with Ursinus College in-jokes that NO ONE would understand or get. But, when I eventually get around to writing a quick FAQ file and character/situation ID checklist, I'll try to make these games publically available for your enjoyment -- if someone knows who'd be willing to host them!
Thanks in advance!
