I had forgotten about that. :D
It means that you can't import an image into a 256 colour VSP in winmaped. You'll have to convert it to 32bpp first. (which winmaped is capable of doing without any fuss)

ok cool. another question: why arent the 000 black parts of my tiles showing up as transparent when I lay down newly added tiles to my now converted tile set? (im not on layer 1)

Because the black you're using isn't transparent, it's just black. Pick up the black that's already on a new tile rather than use the colour the buttons are already bound to. Colour is a bit screwed up, actually. tSB seems to have mixed up red and blue, meaning that red flowers may look red in the tile editor but they're blue in the VSP view. Is this just me or is anyone else experienceing this too?

I was sure I had fixed that.
The best advice I can give anyone is to use an image editor like PSP, or GIMP to make tiles, and simply import. That way, you can evade the suckage that is TileEd. ^_^;

well it seems i had an older version. i downloaded the one currently on your page.. and have a new problem. im trying to import a 112x128 PNG image and all i get is a little snippet of the image or nothing at all. I tried it with a white 1 pixel border, without the border, and with the spacing option clicked and unclicked for both... no go. :( I managed to get a 16x16 grass tile in tho. yay! heh.
