What's up with all these unofficial Verge versions?

I am seeing that many of them have support for things the core Verge2 doesn't support. What's keeping the work of these side programmers from being utilized in the core version? I'm a bit confused. Perhaps I should be e-mailing this to Aen or someone.

Well, the biggest reason is that the coders who are working on the "official" versions are either incredibly busy or just no longer give a shit. A few of these new versions (I feel) deserve to be made the official version, though popularity alone has nearly done that much.

Another reason is that the original coders (namely aen) are working to support these forks because otherwise it just won't ever get done.

Finally, I doubt that anyone has even approached vecna, aen or zeromus about naming a new official version. However, I believe that the next version that will be officially endorsed will be Verge 3 (which is rather sad, since I doubt it's completion will occur anytime soon)

Anyway, there really isn't a point to "official" versions anymore since people soon learn that the "official" version blows goats compared to the more recent releases. Therefore this whole topic and response is completely irrelevant.

And on that note, I bid adieu...
