i'm currently using V2 to create a game project (duh). It has been a long time since i started it, but now i realize, after finalising my combat system, that v2 is not good at all. first, there is so many bugs that you just don,t know where they come from. It crashes from time to time without any reason, music don't work at all on some machine. i tried to switch to V2K, because i though i would be more stable, but i couldn't even load my V2 maps, and maped would always crash when i de-activated layers, then i tried 2.6, and it was just crash after crash(sorry, i can't say more about that as i don't know why) before i could even start coding, then, 2.7, but it is so different from v2, all the python stuff and new support (like image file .png, something like that) that I didn't want to start all over again by learning all the basic stuff(lazy, arent'i?). But the reason of my post is, because i don't want to re-do all my project, if there is some way to save it, like to use a more stable engine to prevent the crash, or make the music run correctly, but still in v2 so that I would still have the same fun as i did when i code in v1 and v2.(i dunno if that make sense, i didn't re-read myself, sorry 'bout that)

You need to put an Autoexec() function in your system.vc. This function tells V2k what to do before it runs any actual ingame stuff.

Example:

void Autoexec()
{
Map("samael.map"); // Load samael.map
}

v2k is incredibly stable so it should suffice until WinV2 really gets off the ground.

the autoexect() worked for me, but it is after loading the map i tell him to load.
I did my map with the first maped for v2, and then i re-opened it with the v2k maped and it was all screwed up. I think it was showing layer 3 to 6, but not 1 and 2. then when i deactivated all layer it crashed saying this program have done an illegal operation and blabla and blabla. If you can help me on that one, I would be grateful. Ho, and, btw, do you know if the sound system is better with V2k than the good ol' V2? I would take the all new winverge2 thing that just came out, be it says that it is using the same maped as v2k...anyway
oh, yeah, will winverge 2 work well on my crappy p100, 32 megs with win98?
thanks
