Regarding v26/windows, I'm curious about the differences between MIDAS and the old MikMod. Specifically:

- What formats does MIDAS support (music and sfx)?

- What sort of effects can be used with MIDAS (like fades, distortions, panning, etc.)

- Can MIDAS handle maps with no music?

- Can MIDAS play sound effects when no music is playing?

Okay, that's all.

All the stuff on the coding end (ours) is the same. It plays the same formats (*maybe* added it, not sure). There may be a couple mods that don't play now/will play now. Either way, I think it's gonna go back to a new MikMod in another update.

For the most part, Grenideer's right. Almost entirely, in fact.

I'm pretty sure that all the annoying crashing bugs are gone in the windows build, for the simple reason that the DOS MikMod is evil. ^_^

It plays all the familiar file formats, but chokes on some mods that worked in DOS verge. You'll get an error at the top of the screen at runtime, and no music will play, but it won't crash.

And yeah, it's going back to MikMod sometime. The windows version suffers from none of the bugs that plagued the DOS version, plus it sounds much better. (Air still has to work out a few kinks, though)
