Well I downloaded Verge2.6, the demo and the source code. But when I tried to run the engine it didn't work, reading the log file it was having a problem.

So I thought I'd try debugging it.

I recompiled it for debug and then copied it into the demo's directory. (I had to change some file locations, like the icons, i_png, strk in the project) but it compiled (with lots of warnings.)

So I ran it anyways, expecting it to do nothing like last time.

But it worked.

I wasn't expecting it to work, but it does (at least that demo does.) So the question is... what fixed it?

I have DirectX8 SDK, MS Platform SDK (Latest version) and VC++6 SP4 installed on Windows 2000SP1. Any thoughts? Anyone want me to post the binary somewhere?

It turns out that I didn't do anything... I had previously changed the bit-depth from 32b to 16b and that's what fixed it.
