Can someone give me an idea of just what it is Verge2 does for the coder? That is, what is it that Verge2 does that makes it easier to make a game than just coding C++?

I speak out of incredible ignorance. I'll likely find out in a few minuites after browsing the docs some more. I just want someone to sell it to me. :)
