I spent hours and hours on the help file alone! Anyway, I haven't put "Find" and "Replace" features in yet, but I will by this weekend. If I get enough support for VEW2 (just email me at cyberdude9341133@cs.com, or just post about it here), I will add LOTS more features. Well check it out and let me know!

Somewhere a trace of intelligence sneaked into my brain. Don't ask how though :)

Well, as I said below it's an exe, not a zip. The look is good and the usage is quite solid.
I don't see the mediabrowser, perhaps that will come later?

Also, the help file isn't always located on the G drive. It pointed to that place in my installation.
Besides that the help file is pretty solid and quite good, though it may be better to start with the main menu right away :)

Syntax Highlighting looking good, but you said something about customizing that as well. How can I do that?

All in all quite an acceptable program, and definately a big improvement over your last version :) You've laid the foundation for something that could become very good :)

Yeah I pushed VEW2 out early, so you guys could get a handle on what it will be :). Sorry It's an EXE, but it is a single executable file, and WinZip will not let me zip it, because it is a Zip.

Here's what I've added to my 'to do' list for VEW 2.01:
- Project manager (see the bottem of this post for
all the features in the manager)

- Custom syntax highlighting (requires lots of code,
and I promised a release, so I didn't have time to
add it)

- The ability to hide/show all non-editor windows
(like the Plug-ins window)

- The ability to create/install/uninstall plugins

- Media Browser

- More useful plugins

- A sub-program that will allow your game to start in
a window screen (It will have it's own small,
simple, and retardedly easy scripting language).
Put it this way, to create a button that
says "Start Game", and it runs the game, and it's
at X5 Y11 with a width of 110 and a height of 80,
you say:
CreateButton(5,11,110,80,"Start Game",RUN("verge"))

- And probibally even more, I may even enable
multiplayer features if I have the time (I'm going
to australia for 3 weeks, starting next friday).

And there are several things I want to say about why I am making VEW2:
First of all, most (maby even all) newbies have no clue what to do when they hear about verge. Even if they manage to download the right files, and actuially run a map, they discover that the colors are all screwed up. VEW will fix this. All they do is Download VEW2 (a later version will inclue the VERGE runtime files), start a project, and create an empty map and run it! And if they see those funky colors, they just read the FAQ in the help file I spent literally 2+ hours on.

Now I need suggestions on what else to add to VEW2, so I can make this THE verge editor (and please link that URL to the Verge2 engine files section, maby the name of "VEW2.0 for VERGE2_7").

Now on to what I plan on putting in the project manager:
The details are still fuzzy, but I have many ideas on it's function. What I was thinking, is make the project manager basically a highly featured graphical listbox. It will list all the files in the project that the currently selected windows is a part of, and of course the files will be neatly organized into catagories. I will also add many other features to it, this is what I have thought of so far :)

I'm glad to see that some of you will actuially use VEW2 as there editor of choice, and I thank you for all your support. And I hope my little contributions to the VERGE2 community will help keep it alive and strong!

where does it say to install on drive G? the installation? If so, I will check it out, and see why it does that, because it shouldn't :) If it trys to load on the G drive in the program, then I can fix that too :)

I had to make a quick change after posting the file, so maby you tried to d/l it while the file was gone. Try again, and if that doesn't work, I can send it through:
