does anyone out there know of a good web host (FREE)
that does not add popups avery minute???
I need a minumum of 50 megs and unlimeted ftp access.

I doubt such a thing exists.
The main reason companies dole out free webspace is so that they can advertise through banners. Either pay for some webspace, or live with the banners.

If you have a permanent internet connection (DSL, Cable), you can use apache web server. Basically its a server thats run off of your computer, taping into your harddrive space. So that way, you can use as much space as you want, and its banner free.

there isn't anything like that. but alas! a solution. you could always sign up for multiple servers and have your files spread across different servers. Maybe images on one, html on another? but that would get extremely annoying and confusing.Or your last resort.
hook yourself up with DSL and be your own server. Register a domain name at www.namezero.com and have it link up to your ip address. Of course this can be bad too. cause of hackers,complextivity,etc. SO i guess your screwed. better stick to geocities,freeservers,xoom,etc.

I began my first page over there as well. They do display a banner, but the service is good and the server is fast.
Besides that: jesusfreak on angelfire.

it's true. supposedly, they give you more space if you ask for it. the only banners are on the front page... it's true! the only bad thing about them is that they put annoying quotes in your html reminding you to link to the front page. other than that, they're perfect. i recommend them.

Here is some... Webhost that offers that kind of stuff without adds exist, but is quite rare. But Ive found some though :). They might not be exactly what you want, but They get really near to it :)
Windygates internet services - Unlimitted space, full FTP access, They add a publicity frame though... http://www.windygates.com
Elite Cities - 40 mo, no ADS whatsoever, CGI-BIN on demand, FTP access, unlimited Bandwith. http://www.elitecities.com
9ug - 100 Mo, Banners free, FTP Acces, http://www.9ug.com
Hehe.. Thats about what I could get :), I suggest that before you upload any of your sites there, Register an Account, upload a dummy index.html (One made-up real fast just to see.) and access your address, than you'll see if there really is adv.

Freedom2surf doesn't have any ads, as in none at all. And no annoying quotes that remind you to do this or that. The only downside is that you only get 20MB of space.
(Did I mention that you get your own free search engine, and virtual subdomain)
